In-Home Newborn Family Photography: The Sterbenz Family

I absolutely love in-home newborn family photography sessions! There’s something so special about capturing a new baby in the comfort of the space where they’ll grow up. That’s exactly what made the Sterbenz family session so meaningful.

Having photographed Linden and Chris since their wedding day, it’s been such a joy to document their journey into parenthood. Now, with the arrival of baby Stella (those big blue eyes!), their family is complete with their older children welcoming their new sibling.

Why Choose In-Home Newborn Family Photography?

First of all, staying home with a newborn is just easier! No packing up diaper bags, no timing feeds around travel, and no stress about the weather. Everyone can relax in their own environment, which leads to more authentic photos.

Additionally, your home tells part of your family’s story. The nursery you carefully prepared, the living room where you’ll spend countless hours playing together, and the special spots that make your house a home all become meaningful backdrops.

Creating Comfortable In-Home Newborn Family Photography

The Sterbenz family session flowed so naturally. We started with some casual shots on their living room couch – the perfect spot for the siblings to cuddle up with baby Stella. The natural light streaming through their windows created the most beautiful, soft glow on everyone’s faces.

During these sessions, I take my time. There’s no rush when photographing newborns. We take breaks for feeding, diaper changes, and giving older siblings a chance to burn off some energy when needed.

Including Siblings in Your In-Home Newborn Family Photography

One of the best parts about in-home newborn family photography is how comfortable older siblings feel. The Sterbenz children were able to show me their toys, their rooms, and naturally interact with their new baby sister without feeling overwhelmed by a new environment.

Moreover, we captured some beautiful moments of the siblings gently holding Stella. These are the images that will become more precious with each passing year as their relationships grow and change.

Personal Touches in Your Space

What makes in-home newborn family photography truly special are the personal details. The family photos already on your walls, the blanket knitted by grandma, or the stuffed animal that was yours as a child – these elements add depth and meaning to your images.

For the Sterbenz family, we incorporated some meaningful items they had around their home. These touches help tell the complete story of this new chapter in their lives.

The Benefits of Staying Home

Besides comfort, in-home newborn family photography offers practical benefits too. Your baby stays in their safe, germ-free environment. Parents don’t have to stress about getting everyone dressed and out the door. And if you need something? It’s right there!

In fact, during our session, we were able to easily move between rooms for different setups without disrupting Stella’s schedule. This flexibility is simply not possible in a studio setting.

I’m so grateful to have been part of this special time for the Sterbenz family. These in-home newborn family photography sessions truly capture the genuine love and connection that make each family unique.
