As a Richmond in-home newborn photographer, I love returning to families I’ve worked with before! After capturing the Holguins’ maternity session, I was thrilled to meet their little Oliver at their cozy home.
There’s something deeply authentic about photographing newborns in their own environment. As a Richmond in-home newborn photographer, I get to document not just the baby, but the spaces lovingly prepared for them.
The Holguins’ home provided the perfect backdrop for Oliver’s session. Additionally, having all their supplies within reach made the session flow smoothly and comfortably.
Oliver’s nursery was a dream to photograph! The thoughtfully selected details and sweet stuffed animals created charming vignettes throughout our session.
I always capture nursery details during newborn sessions. Therefore, families can remember this special space that often changes quickly as babies grow.
The family dog made a perfect addition to some of our photos! Including pets in newborn sessions creates a complete family portrait that acknowledges all important family members.
Safety always comes first with pets and newborns. Consequently, we took extra precautions and had another adult assist during these special family portraits.
Oliver was absolutely adorable – the perfect chunky nugget! His expressive faces gave us so much variety in his gallery.
Since this session took place when Oliver was a bit older than the typical newborn, he was more alert and expressive. As a result, we captured more personality than is sometimes possible with brand new babies.
As a Richmond in-home newborn photographer, I love working with babies at different stages. Oliver’s slightly older age allowed for more poses and expressions than a days-old newborn.
He was able to hold his head up for certain shots. Furthermore, his more established schedule made planning the session timing easier for everyone.
Newborn sessions aren’t just about baby portraits – they’re about documenting this new chapter for the entire family. The Holguins’ connection with their new son was beautiful to capture.
These images tell the story of Oliver’s early days and the love surrounding him. In fact, these everyday moments often become the most treasured images in the gallery.
