When life gets busy, finding time for photos can feel impossible – but that’s exactly why I love being a summer mini session photographer in Richmond!
Mini sessions are perfect when you need updated photos but don’t have hours to spare. Recently, I had the sweetest experience with two families who are expecting their first babies. These friends decided to book sessions together, which made everything even more fun!
Originally, we planned outdoor sessions to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather. However, Mother Nature had other plans and decided to rain on our parade. Instead of canceling, we pivoted to The Studio on Broad for an indoor picnic-style session.
The beauty of working with a summer mini session photographer is the flexibility we offer. When our outdoor plans got rained out, we transformed the studio into a cozy picnic setting with clean backdrops and plenty of natural light.
These expecting couples got exactly what they needed – updated photos to announce their pregnancies and document this special time in their lives. Furthermore, the studio environment actually worked perfectly for their vision.
At The Studio on Broad, we set up a beautiful picnic scene that felt both intimate and professional. The clean backdrop allowed their genuine emotions and connections to shine through without any distractions.
Both couples were so relaxed during their sessions, which is exactly what I aim for as a summer mini session photographer. Sometimes the best photos happen when plans change and we embrace the unexpected!
Mini sessions typically last 20-30 minutes, making them ideal for busy schedules or when you just need a few updated images. These friends walked away with gorgeous photos that perfectly captured their excitement about becoming parents.
The studio setting also meant we didn’t have to worry about weather, lighting changes, or other outdoor variables. Everything was controlled and beautiful, allowing us to focus entirely on capturing their joy.
As a summer mini session photographer, I’ve seen how these shorter sessions can be just as meaningful as longer ones. The key is preparation and knowing exactly what shots we want to capture.
These expectant parents got stunning images that they’ll treasure forever, all within a compact timeframe that worked perfectly for their busy lives. Sometimes less really is more!
